Saron Lutheran Church Altar Guild

Saron Lutheran Church Altar Guild is a dedicated group of women whose primary mission is to prepare and maintain our sanctuary for use by God’s family. The Altar Guild is more than just housekeeping, though. The service of being in the Altar Guild is truly a spiritual function in that members prepare the Altar and church for each worship service.

The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the communion vessels for the service, along with the linens and paraments, ensuring the candles are filled with oil and to place fresh flowers in the vases for the services. Decorating and coordinating flowers, plants and banners for the Altar and worship area is also one of the ongoing tasks.

After the service, the Altar Guild cleans and puts everything away until it is time to prepare for the next service.

We are fortunate at Saron Lutheran Church to have the assistance of faithful Altar Guild members. Currently there are 10 members who serve on the Altar Guild on a regular schedule. Each member who serves on the Altar Guild is committed to this service. Their gifts of time and efforts are much appreciated.
