Saron’s Youth Serving the Community

Any youth and/or parents interested in serving the community with 1st Saturday Food Distribution meet at Saron on Saturday, September 4th at 7:45am. Yes, 7:45am on a Saturday morning in the summer, you have the rest of the week to sleep until noon. We will then go to Celebration Fellowship on Stuntz Ave to unload a truck of food and help distribute the food. Any questions call Wendy at church 715-682-2376.

Stewardship & Evangelism Committee

As we enter summer the committee is kicking in at full speed ahead with its new program ‘TOGETHER WE GROW”. This program is gearing up for an every member visit to inform everyone of all that is happening at Saron and to do a quick survey with 10 or less questions about how you feel and what direction you would like to see Saron grow in during the next 5-10 years.

Our group is very small and we are looking for more members. We especially need knitters for the prayer shawl ministry. Sharon Manthei has knit approximately ten shawls so far. Esther Marie delivers then during her visits. We would also like to knit baby afghans for our baptisms.

The group has been making birthday, get well and confirmation cards. See Elaine or Eva for more information. You can even help out if you can’t attend. We will be working at home until next fall.

If you know of someone who needs or wants a visit from Pastor, please contact the church office at 682-2376. If you know of someone who is ill, in the hospital or nursing home please contact the church office for a visit or a card. Some one who hasn’t been to church in a while or if you are that person please know you are always welcome.

Spring into Faith In Action

Faith In Action-Ashland County is taking requests from senior citizens for volunteer assistance with spring yard work and chores. To qualify for Faith In Action a person needs to be 60 years of age or older, residing in Ashland County and still living independently in their home or apartment. Volunteers can assist with a wide variety of services, both inside and out. Faith In Action will need lots of new volunteers willing to mow, help with yard work, or do basic household cleaning this spring and summer. Call the Ashland County Aging Unit for more information on becoming a volunteer or requesting volunteer assistance. (682-4414 ext 3 or fiavolunteer@ashlandaging.org)
